Whether you’ve been using Kbuuk since we launched, or you’re new to the platform here are 10 features that are fun to use that will help you out in your self-publishing journey.
Interact with readers. What’s the best way to sell more books? Know and understand who your readers are. The Kbuuk platform allows for authors and readers to directly interact so that authors can understand their target markets better, and readers can send messages to the authors they know and love.
Attach an audio book to your work. We’ve teamed up with Voicebunny to provide independent authors with a cost-effective way to produce audiobooks and attach them to your ebooks. Have professional voice talent record your work, and then add it on by chapter. Readers can then enjoy your book by reading, listening, or both.
Configure your own preview stopping point. The Kbuuk system allows authors to control how much or how little of a preview is allowed for books with positive price points. Control how little or how much you want to reveal. Interesting character that doesn’t get introduced until the beginning of the second chapter? No problem, previews are your prerogative.
Gift ebooks. Who gifts ebooks? We think ebooks make a great gift for any special occasion, and if you can definitely get creative in your gift giving process. All you need to gift an ebook is the email of the recipient.
In-text social sharing in the online and iPad reader. Want to inspire conversation with your reading group, or do you just want to share insightful and inspirational prose? Connect your social accounts to your Kbuuk account, and you can easily share lines of text with your social network.
Get professional help. And we mean that in the best of ways of course. But seriously, having problems finding a cover designer or ways to market your ebook? Keep calm and write on because the Kbuuk app store has just about everything you need in the production process. We have the author services to help you take your manuscript to a completed ebook up and ready for sale.
Change your author website theme. Each author who signs up with Kbuuk gets his or her own site automatically, no work involved, that shows the world that you have a work for sale. This site can be customized with different themes very easily. All you need to do is choose the theme that’s right for you.
Aggregate content on one site with your author portal. Do you wish there was a way for your authorial presence to be easily presented in one place? With the Kbuuk system there is! You can attach Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google + accounts to your account. Additionally, been working on your blogging presence? No worries, we have Blogger and WordPress integrations as well. Content from Twitter and your blog will be pulled onto your site, and visitors can easily connect to your other social accounts so you are accessible. You can also connect YouTube videos to your account so that people can watch videos by you, or just videos you think would be beneficial for them to see.
Edit your work as many times as you want. Within the Kbuuk ecosystem, editing and refining work is as simple as uploading a new file. If you’re unsure of how you want your work to finish out, Kbuuk is a great place to test your work. You can publish an unfinished version of your work and invite readers to rate and comment on what you’re written so far. A caveat to editing as many times as you want, is if you have a Premium account and your work has been assigned an ISBN, then you will have to redeem distribution credits to make changes and stay within the bounds of the ISBN rules about editing content.
Get all of your royalties in one place. If you are a Kbuuk Premium member distributed across all of the third party retailers, don’t worry about checking royalties on the other stores, we’ll do it for you. But why would you want to market availability of your work on any other site than Kbuuk, when we give you all the power of publishing right at your fingertips?!
